Blundells' Year Away

Monday 6, September, 2010

Connor plays baseball for Leaside. This is no mean feat because he has only barely skimmed a bat or a glove back home during his PE lessons. And I think that was only T-Ball or Softball. Not the real McCoy.

He played all Spring and now the teams are back for the playoffs and Connor's team has made it!

Today he had two games to determine if they would go forward and they won both games. Connor got an RBI so we're very proud of him. (Aussies: that's Runner Batted In, so what happened is that Connor hit the ball so well that while it was flying through the air and not being caught by the other team, Connor's team-mate was able to run from third base to home and therefore scoring a point on the board.)

(The ball is in his glove at this point)

Next week is the championship. We think. Or it could be the week later. We're not too sure how the system works.

School goes back tomorrow. Yes! YES! YES!!! Ian and I were planning to celebrate by going out to breakfast then I was going to write for the rest of the day and sneak in a yoga session to help my legs improve but we have a 9am Rose Ceremony to welcome the school body back, then an 11am meeting for the Winter Fair with Grade 7 then Lucas is on half days so he gets collected at 12.30. So much for our first day off!!

Never mind.

Bad news; Dad's not well. He's at Cabrini with pancreatitis and it looks like his gall bladder will have to go. He will be fine, thankfully, but he has been in a lot of pain.

Get Well soon Dad!!
