Day 77 - Thursday, 25 February, 2010
Odd start to the day. Cesy was sleep-sobbing intermittently overnight and eventually awoke at midnight to tell us she's never been sadder I'm her entire life and she doesn't know why. Connor is being moody and weird and complaining of feeling sick and tried to get brought home from school at noon, just as we were going out with Jehrom and Sally.
Elliot cried the whole way to school as I'd let him sleep in and he apparently haaa-aaates being late.
Lucas is happy. Ian reckons they might have seasonal affective disorder as their bodies are accustomed to being in sunshine. Best I get onto the vitamin d supplements.
We went to the Queen and Beaver for lunch. Old English pub style with what's known as gastrpub cuisine. It was delicious and the pommy decor complete with Charles and di wedding plate was divine. It might be a strange choice to bring visitors to Canada to an English pub but hhis place is enamoured with it's British roots. I guess we would be too if people kept mistaking us for American.
So to visit and understand Canada it is also to embrace the mother country.
Then we faced the bitter snow storms and made our way around the corner where PATH starts. This is the underground network of tunnels, pathways and malls that link all the way around downtown Toronto.
It was ok but we didn't get too far as the clift clan wanted to do a spot if shopping. There just isn't enough time to see it all.
Tonight we met Paul at park hyatt - so he could drop off Steph's daughter Honor. This is where we stayed on our first night we arrived.
Then the six grown ups went out together to a magnificent restaurant called Canoe with sweeping city views (on nights they are not predicting blizzards) and incredible Canadian food.
It was such a fun night. Loads of laughs. It's always great to get such wonderful people together.
Snowstorm predicted. The city is covered in snow and is looking divine at the moment.
