Blundells' Year Away

Day 74 - Monday, February 22, 2010

Local Colorado Character

Icy cold today and crisp clear blue skies. The terrain is remarkable and everyone (except Sally and me) were desperate to hit the slopes.

Ian and Jehrom set off and covered the entire mountain, skiing madly till the almost did every run available. They went to Arrowhead, Grouse Mountain and Bachelor Gulch. And it was fully sick, according to the guys.

How about that snow

The children also had a wonderful time. Francesca lept two levels while skiing here and is now a Level 8. Connor is Level 6 and Elliot and Lucas are Level 5. We are very proud of how slick and professional they all look heading down the mountain.

Off to Toronto tomorrow. We all hope we don't have to spend an hour in the company of the Homeland Security department again like last time. Ian's name got flagged at customs for a search and we all had to go off with him. That was fun. I am never putting my laundry detergent in a zip-lock bag ever again. It looked an awful lot like a kilo of cocaine! The sniffer dog cleared it up for us straight away.

Sally and I had a tremendous day cruising the village and visiting some very beautiful shops. Some of the homewares are utterly magnificent and of course all in the same theme as the hotel rooms; the rustic country chic natural look.

You can fashion most anything from a pair of antlers you know!

Jehrom found a shop called Sure Foot that were most indulgent of his foot problems. They gave up on me and mine though.
