CN Tower and Zombies

Ian's been in training lately for the big United Way CN Tower climb which was this morning. All the way up 1776 stairs which is apparently the equivalent of 150 floors. He got to the top in just over fifteen minutes.

Very impressive.

Peace, Love and Retirement

Ian and I took Connor to see the 14th Dalai Lama speak at the Skydome today.

Jen Deathe, my friend from the kids school, offered to take Francesca which gave us the idea to go.

Thirteen sleeps whoooooooo!

The children are getting very excited about Halloween and I must admit, they're infecting the parents! Ian and Elliot went to Canadian Tire today and bought a Halloween Pumpkin gouging out kit. Then an enormous pumpkin. Elliot designed a fantastic face which they carved into their squash and eventually a fantastic jack o'lantern was born.

Happy Birthday Mum!

It's Bev's birthday today. She's inching towards a big one but I shall say no more.

And, coincidentally it was the night of my book launch. I wanted to launch Chanel Sweethearts in Canada but I also really wanted to have a get-together with the lovely friends we've made while we've been here.

Pumpkin Forest

Su Laine Varkey is a very talented and enthusiastic mum at the school. She had a great idea for the foyer display. I helped her chop pumpkins along with Dad Fireman Dan with his hatchet.

Thanksgiving

They call it Canadian Thanksgiving. Here they're very good at remembering the pagan ways of revering the season change. They still change their seasons based on the solstice and the equinox so it's around the 21st four times a year as opposed to the Southern Hemisphere of the 1st just cos it's more convenient.
